December Meeting - Christmas Party

A fantastic buffet greeted members as they arrived in the Trinity Centre for this years' Christmas Celebration - Ann, Sheila and Pat co-ordinated members contributions and had the table looking really great.

                                                              What an amazing buffet!

Although the evening started in sadness with the news of our much-loved Treasurer Jean Philip's recent death we knew she'd want us to enjoy ourselves ……. God Bless you Jean. RIP

Enjoying a wonderful medley of songs

As well as receiving a 'secret santa' present ourselves members were really generous in their donations of presents for the guests at Shiloh.

What a lot of presents!!

A special birthday for our new Treasurer Lynn - many congratulations on your special day and thanks for stepping into Jean's shoes

Well done committee for organising a great evening.

Look forward to seeing everyone again in 2019.

June Meeting - 'Stitching up a Family' with Sue Clifton

Jean welcomed our guest speaker for the evening who gave a really entertaining talk on how inheriting two family Grandfather clocks led to her researching her family tree and then illustrating her findings in the form of embroidered 'pictures'.

Her imagination certainly ran wild as she explained the various family characters and surnames and how she came to depict them.  We couldn't believe the detail in her designs - what a talented lady!

Jean then led the business part of the meeting and we were all pleased to hear of the good progress of Dorothy, Sheila and Marjorie after their recent hospital stays.  Bottles were collected for our stall at the  Rockley Rally and notices given out for forthcoming events.  We then enjoyed lovely home-made refreshments served by Ann and Julie - thanks ladies.

Don't forget next month's Summer Party - a day at the seaside!!
