South Yorkshire Federation Heritage Walk around Thorpe Hesley

Friday 30th June saw 18 WI teams from across the Federation meet at the Trinity Centre for this years Heritage Walk which we won last year.
Sue Dixon and Pat Henderson were in charge of registering the teams and giving out the clues and maps.  There were two routes planned with one starting in Holy Trinity and the other in the churchyard.  Jean Phillips was on hand at the bottom of the church drive to ensure teams followed the correct route.

Jean ready for action!

The ladies from High Green WI

On completion of the walk Sue and Pat and their teams of 'markers' busily checked the answers whilst a wonderful tea was enjoyed by all.  Thanks were given to all the Thorpe Hesley Hostesses by Mary and endorsed by Lorna Montgomery on behalf of the Federation.

The results were given out with all teams scoring well but three teams were clearly ahead -
1st - Penistone 54 pts
2nd - Todwick 'A' 52 pts
3rd - Dungworth Storrs 51 pts

(Only 10 points separated the other 15 teams so well done to all)

Lorna Montgomery presented certificates to the runners-up and winners ....

 Todwick A - Runners-Up

The raffle was drawn ..... and goodbyes said ..... then the tidying up began

Well done Thorpe Hesley Ladies for organising a really good event - much enjoyed by all.
